Plank | Salone del Mobile 2012

Plank launched 5 new products BLOCCO by Naoto Fukasawa, Palio by Konstantin Grcic, DOTY by Ludovica+ Roberto Palomba, PUB by Cisotti Laube and Mister X by Cisotti Laube.  Each product has its own style and function, in keeping with the tradition of technological innovation by Plank.

BLOCCO by Naoto Fukasawa  As the name suggests, it almost looks as carved out of a single piece of solid wood, though it is the result of a highly sophisticated, composite construction.  An ash wooden chair and armchair, available in natural lacquered, black stained or coloured with a matt open grain in grey, white and red.

PALIO by Konstantin Grcic  Coach hide is the starting point for this new chair, combining the quality and longevity of this traditional material with a contemporary shape supported by a stainless steel frame. Available in black and "cognac" coach hide, balck nylon strap and feet in black or silver.

DOTY by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba.

An innovative solution, the rigid polyurethane seat and back provides structural integrity to the solid ash frame.  Ash wood structure, natural lacquer or black stained and the self supporting polyurethane seat and back avilable in black, ivory, ice blue and brick red.

PUB by Cisotti Laube  A stool made of an aluminium die casting (seat and footrest) and extruded legs, available in polished, black or white powder coated.  The seat is made of soft integral polyurethane in black or white.

MISTER X by Cisotti Laube  An elegant and versatile table, ideal for public areas.  A four star cast iron base in black or white powder coat, wth white or black HPL tops. Available for indoor and outdoor.

Plank Milan 2011

A new ground breaking design by Konstantin Grcic for Plank; Avus is a radical reinterpretation of the club chair, a highly contemporary product in terms of design and technology applied.  The rigid base in ABS is a twin sheet moulded shell reinforced with a polyurethane foam core.  The stiffness of the base is contrasted by a flexible upper shell made of a single sheet of the same material.  The leather upholstery is zipped into the upper shell in one piece, using technology from high end luggage production.

Twin Parallel - featuring Myto

Twin Parallel is a film written and directed by Justin Anderson showcasing the Jayne Pierson S/S 2011 collection.  Premiered at London Fashion Week it features two girls in the Twin Parallel - a parallel time shift of the twin paradox theory - with still life, a cuckoo clock and the golden goose girl.

The futuristic, ethereal lines of the Myto chair, designed by Konstantin Grcic for Plank Collezioni srl, were considered a perfect complement to the collection.

Plank in Milan

Plank launched the Monza chair and table system designed by Konstantin Grcic, following on from the success of Monza armchair last year.  The side chair is curiously not entirely armless, opting for a short arm, retaining its original aesthetics.

Here is the updated Monza catalogue.
